MICHEL PERCHIN GOTHIC LIMITED EDITION F/PEN MEDIUM NIB & LEATHER POUCH ,345 VALUEThe Michel Perchin Gothic revives and reflects the magnificent medieval architecture and artistry of the Gothic Era.
The Gothic Era came after the Romanesque Art Era and was before the Renaissance Art Era. Gothic Architecture took over most of Western Europe and took over Art more entirely in the northern Alps. This concurrent development of Gothic Architecture and Gothic Art took place in the mid-12th-century. Gothic Art became more developed in the 14th century and spread internationally. It continued to grow well into the 15th century. It continued to evolve into the 16th century in many areas, especially Germany. The artistic mediums primarily used in Gothic Art were sculpting, panel-painting, fresco, and illuminated manuscripts.
Artists during this time were usually required to be in a painter's guild as cities were expanding and trade guilds were formed. Because of these guilds, more artists are known to us by name than in any era before that time.
The pen is hand-carved and engraved is bored from a rod of solid sterling silver (.925 English hallmark), and it is engraved with an intricate design that is reminiscent of an ancient castle. The barrel features a hand-engraved and hand-applied black hard-fired enamel.
The Gothic is available as a fountain pen and mounted with a Medium 18-karat gold nib and is accompanied by the most delicate ebonite feeders.
Thousands of hours are devoted to the creation of each Gothic Limited Edition piece. Inspired by historical buildings, churches and tapestries, this masterpiece reflects the beauty of Old World elegance.
Launched in 1998 in A worldwide production of 250 pieces the Michel Perchin Black Gothic Limited Edition Roller Ball sold out quickly.
