Description
VINTAGE OSMIA-FABBER CASTELL 52BL PURPLE MARBLE PISTON FILLER FOUNTAIN PEN 1940'The Osmia company was founded in 1919 by the two brothers Hermann and Georg Böhler who left Kaweco to start a new company. Back in those days the factory in Dossenheim, near Heidelberg, started with the production of safety pens and propelling pencils. The name Osmia was derived from "Osmiumalloy" a metal alloy which was used in fountain pen nibs. The company got under the control of Parker (due to the influence of Josef Lamy, the export manager for Parker) in the 1920s and was taken over by Faber-Castell in 1951. Osmia fountain pens have attractive colours and are known as quality writing intruments. The company's emblem is a white diamond in a circle.
